Royal Reader program Ice Cream Social at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School

Royal Readers is a Kiwanis sponsored program using volunteers to spend time each week with first graders, listening and logging the books and stories they read to supplement their home reading logs. For every 10 books logged they earn a jewel to bedazzle their golden crowns. The crowns are worn on special school days such as assemblies. When the year ends, the Kiwanis Club of Shallotte/SBI celebrates their successes with a big Ice Cream Social!
